Twenty20 Worldcup: India enters Super8 with style

Twenty20 is a different kind of cricket in which no team can be considered as favourites (remember the match between zim vs AUS) . It' all about how you would handle the pressure situations and with a bit of luck on your team.

No one would have expected india to win today's match after the poor performance by their top order batsmen. Sehwag as usual started his innings with his trademark shot but perished within the next two balls. The conditions were favourable for the bowlers and Asif took maximum advantage of it. Now he has the second best bowling performance(4/18) in Twenty20 matches after MR Gillespie(4/7 against Kenya ).

The fielding was good from india this time, supporting their bowlers. We can always expect 6 runs per over from agarkar though he takes one or two quick wickets. Irfan's comeback to the team was good with his economical performance i nthe bowling department in this match.

Sreesanth, i believe, won this match for india because even in any one-day international against a big team with one run to score with two ball remaining, you can never expect the match to end up as a tie game!!

After watching the highlights of BOWLOUT, i thought that Pakistan' bowlers were very casual about the outcome of this game (maybe it's because they know that they qualified for Super8). As expected, india went for all spinners to bowl and they did as expected from them. Pakistan's bowlers didn't even find atleast one stump to hit !!! and atlast India won by 3-0 margin.

Hope India continues the same spirit in the remaining matches of the tournament.

Future: Beautiful skyscrappers in India

I was browsing for something else and accidentally stumbled on this Skyscrapper blog. I took time on each entry on the blog and find it very interesting.

Examples:
Skyscrappers in Hyderabad!!

Hopefully the infastructure will be according to the international standards.

Tallest Hindu Temple in the world

Look how beautiful it will be, when it's completed. The entire structure will be built with bricks fired from Ganga silt.

As long as these commercial projects doesn't effect agriculture(most of these projects are build on agricultural land on the outskirts of the cities{cheaper land prices,..})and other things, it's really good news for indian economy.

India vs Englad: 6th ODI

Wow!!. What a match it was! First of all, i never expected that England would cross 250, but they did (thnx to the lower order for hitting huge sixes n fours) and then India fought hard to win the game atlast in the final over with two ball left.

The openers (Ganguly and Sachin) continued their excellent performance with 150 runs partnership between them and laid the solid foundation for the other players to come and hit. I was surprised at Rahul's choice of sending in Gambhir as one-down batsman instead of specialist hitter, Robin Uthappa. Fortunately, Uthappa played a major role, infact i would say, single handedly won the game, playing in the lower order for India.

Cricket world cup 2007

This will surely be an interesting worldcup to watch. Except in Group A, there is always a chance for an upset by the minnows on stronger teams(like Bangladesh beating india/srilanka, Kenya on England) in the Group stages. If not, the top 8 test playing countries will play against each other in the Super 8 stage.

Unlike previous world cups, this time every super 8 has to play other teams, so the chances are almost equal for all the teams to reach the semifinal stage. I hope Australia knocks out of the tournament this time either from the Super 8 or from the Semi final, otherwise, they will surely create history by winning third world cup in a row.

The pitches, as everybody is saying, will play a lead role along with the toss. It all depends on the pitch, the toss to decide which team will win the match. Obviously with the batting line up we have, it's certain that we can reach at least the semifinal stage and from then on it's Determination + luck + hard work which decides our fate.

My prediction for World cup )

What is a nation ?

Even after two long years, these questions are in my head! how can i forget what he said !

I enjoy discussions as and when possible. One day we were discussing about India-Pak issue, Middle east issue and so on. Suddenly one my friend started saying ...

" Why do we have so many nations? and why don't we have one freee land (free from everything!!) ?

why do people from one country cannot enter another country freely? why do people fight for a piece of land ? first of all , what do u mean by a country ?? .. "

No one can answer such questions!! Can you ? you can defend them but you cannot give a precise answer.

I think i found an answer from this article.

"
'What is India?'
Sri Aurobindo the great Indian rishi wrote in 1905: 'For what is a nation? What is our mother-country? It is not a piece of earth, nor a figure of speech, nor a fiction of the mind. It is a mighty shakti, composed of the shaktis of all the millions of units that make up the nation.'"

Will India play hardball?

Just now i have read this beautiful article from "THE WEEK" magazine and the next moment i am sharing it with you. The article focuses on "India’s vote on Iran", "India’s gameplan to tackle Pakistan in the outburst of war", and more importantly on latest HOT topic of US-India nuclear deal

Intresting Information from Article :-" An analysis of air intelligence inputs was called. It was found that Pakistan Air Force, for more than a decade, had invested millions of dollars in the air defence of its eastern frontier. In the process, it had left gaping holes on its western and northern frontiers."

Map for Reference

The article begins with an intresting problem faced by indian Defence during Operation Parakram( I never knew that pakistan had scuh good air defense capabilities.). To counterattack this defense, india is trying to maintain good relations with Tajikistan , iran and other neighbours of pakistan(ofcourse except CHINA).

For more, go through this article.
